Calling all GAA fans… don’t miss the Awards night this Saturday in Celbridge GAA Club….
Pot Holes in Leixlip??
Recently Kildare County Council suggested taking €126,000 from the roads budget for Celbridge, Leixlip area to compensate for the loss of income due to reduced paid parking times in the towns.
This was greatly opposed by local councillors who would have refused to approve the budget.
As a result, it has been decided not to deduct this money and the total allocation for the roads budget is €460,000 – This is combined with the money allocated from the local property tax.
With all this money for roads upgrade and repairs, there shouldn’t be another pot hole in Leixlip…
Also on the matter of parking, Cllr. Frank O’Rourke has requested FREE PARKING FOR CHRISTMAS in the town from 19th December to 2nd January. This will enable local people to park and shop locally which in turn benefits the local businesses. We’ll keep you updated on this one!

Calls to Fix Leixlip Playground!

KILDARE County Council is to be asked to fix the surface of the public playground at Leixlip.
Cllr. Ide Cussen said residents have raised concerns with her over the surface of the playground. “The current safety layer has become worn and in many places, is beginning to pose a safety risk as a trip hazard.”
The playground lies within the boundary of the community owned Leixlip Amenities Centre.

LEIXLIP – Property Tax Reduction!
Following a meeting last Monday of Kildare County Council, it was agreed by the full council that KCC will implement a 7.5% reduction in property tax to all households.
The remaining 7.5% (of a possible 15% reduction) will be kept within the county for delivery of projects. This amounts to an EXTRA €1.65 Million available for community projects in Kildare.
Great news for householders and the local community…
